  • QatarEnergy added an additional 16 million ton/yr phase to its ongoing LNG expansion – North Field West – which it expects to complete by 2030. Its operated liquefaction capacity is now set to reach about 160 million tons/yr by the end of the decade. Its long-term corporate strategy is unaffected by project development constraints at IOC-led ventures, given its decisions to commit to developing new LNG capacity without public announcement of any associated supply deals. Monetization of ethane and other new production from North Field growth, such as condensates and helium, is likely intended to hedge against LNG overdependency.
